Women have an innate and unique ability to bring light to anything they touch. Women have the opportunity to be a catalyst for changing and saving the world. Yet when our life isn’t running smoothly, our light is dimmed.
Sometimes, we don’t want to give attention to the areas of our life that are weighing us down (even if it’s just a little bit) because we don’t want to be dramatic. We see big problems happening in our communities and in the world, which tends to make us think that our personal issues are not issues. We think that they’re piddly little things not worthy of attention.
YEAH, they might be small in the grand scheme of the universe, but here’s the thing:
You’ve got really big things to do. You’ve got a life to lead. You’ve got marks to leave and an impact to create with whatever you do (no matter if you’re a teacher, high school custodian, politician, mother, executive, social entrepreneur, park ranger, dental hygienist, philanthropist, ANYTHING).
We often look at those larger-than-life problems outside of us and don’t DO anything to address them. Not because we don’t want to! But because we don’t know WHAT to do or WHERE to begin.
BEGIN INSIDE YOURSELF.
Dismissing the stuff in your personal life that could use attention is not going to get you want you want OR help a bigger, greater cause.
It’s a lose/lose situation.
In fact, dismissing your stuff actually contributes to the hindrance of the positive progress of our environment and the world.
(Read that last sentence again because it’s IMPORTANT!)
Why?
All change has to begin within each and every one of us. To see the problems of the world and use that as an excuse to stand still in our own lives is ridiculous.
It is our social and personal responsibility to follow our joy. To do what lights us up. To love ourselves like crazy.
The act of doing this is what allows our own unique light to shine with radiant power. It gives our touch more impact. It IS what changes the world.
The impact we desire to have outside of ourselves is deeper and greater when our personal life is running like a well-oiled machine.
IT’S TIME TO SPARK CHANGE
It’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to lead our own lives in a way that builds us and others up. It is time to put to use in our own little worlds the feminine gift that we have. If we ALL did that, imagine the collective positive impact that would be made.
Take steps to release the unproductive thoughts that are consistently swimming around and taking up space in your head about your life. When you do that, there will be a lot more horsepower behind your dreams, visions, goals and intentions.
It’s time for women everywhere to get their lives running like a well-oiled machines. Will you join the movement?

Thank you Melissa. This is why I coach. You put it into words so eloquently.
This is just beautiful, Melissa! Straight from the heart — it’s so amazing to get such a sincere look at why you do what you do.
And even more fun to see you live and in person!!! What a great weekend
Jenny, being around people like you is what helps pull this stuff out of me!
Need. More. Jenny. Blake.
I LOVE “It is your personal and social responsibility to follow your joy”. Yes, yes, yes! I just had this exact conversation with a womens’ group last night! That is the key to it all! Beautiful piece Melissa!
